Shunyata Research Sigma-X USB is a reference USB cable for the link between a music server, streamer or computer and a USB DAC. It uses a proprietary four-conductor design with dual foil-and-braid shielding, PE dielectric, 90-ohm characteristic impedance and SR-USB connectors with gold-plated contacts, plus 35 TAPc elements, PMZ construction and four days of KPIP v2 processing.

TECHNOLOGY
 | TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is Shunyata Research's patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic fields around signal conductors. It works like a polarizer, passively reducing electromagnetic distortion. Sigma-X USB uses 35 TAPc elements. |
 | PMZ is Shunyata Research's ultra-precise production standard. The braiding machines run at a quarter of normal speed, so the conductor surface, dielectric extrusion and braided shield are held to very tight tolerances. |
 | KPIP v2™ is Shunyata Research's proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process, applied to the conductor and terminal metals. Sigma-X USB receives four days of KPIP v2 processing, which Shunyata says greatly reduces burn-in time. |

Choose USB when it is the native digital interface between your source and DAC. Sigma-X Ethernet serves a different network link and is not a substitute for USB.

Shunyata's current USB specification lists TAPc and PMZ. It does not list CMode for this model.
What is the specified impedance?
90 ohms.
What is the standard length?
1.50 meters. We list lengths up to 3.5 meters, and Shunyata's maximum USB length is 5 meters.
