BRAMA PRE-AMPLIFIER

The heart and soul of your system.

At the heart of the Brama Preamplifier lies Vinnie Rossi’s finest 300B linestage, featuring a matched pair of premium Western Electric WE300B triodes. Operating in pure Class A, these legendary triodes deliver an immersive listening experience with unmatched realism and tonality.

The Brama Preamplifier’s fully balanced input and output stages ensure exceptional noise rejection and signal transfer between your source components and power amplifiers. A notable design feature is the direct mounting of the entire preamplifier’s dual-mono circuitry, including the 300B triodes, to the rear panel jacks. This unique approach minimizes the input-to-output audio signal path to only a few centimeters, effectively reducing signal degradation and preserving the purity of the audio signal.

A Legendary Tube, Reimagined

The Western Electric 300B is one of the most iconic tubes in audio. In Brama, it finds a role unlike anywhere else—integrated seamlessly into the linestage (Brama Preamplifier and Integrated Amplifier models), where its unmistakable character can be experienced in its purest form.

Where are the 300B triodes in Brama?
They’re right at the heart of it. The dual-mono preamplifier board mounts directly to the rear panel—and so do the 300Bs. Each tube sits in a premium Teflon socket, directly connected to the preamp PCB for the shortest, cleanest signal and power paths.

Why don’t they come out the top, like in many tube amps?
Brama takes a specialized approach. By placing the 300Bs horizontally inside the chassis, they are both physically and electrically shielded from modern-day interference such as cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, and smart devices. The solid aluminum body is fully sealed and grounded, achieving vanishingly low noise. The result: music emerging from true silence.

What about heat—don’t 300Bs run hot?
They run hot in power amplifiers where they drive loudspeakers. But in Brama, they provide only voltage gain—not output power. That means they run much cooler and last significantly longer, providing you with 10+ years of life.

Why use 300B triodes in a linestage?
Because nothing else sounds like them. In our custom circuit, the directly heated 300B triode brings unmatched midrange naturalness, tonal beauty, and effortless realism. Free from the burden of driving speakers, they bring music to life without compromise.

The Western Electric 300B is legendary for its lifelike presence and natural beauty, but in Brama it’s not treated as a visual showpiece. Instead, it’s integrated seamlessly, shielded and optimized to let its voice shine without distraction. Brama lets a matched pair of WE300B disappear into the design so that all that remains is the experience of music, fully realized.

Pure analog emotion.

The front panel of the Brama Preamplifier presents a clean layout, luxurious feel, and timeless design, purposefully omitting digital displays and visual clutter.

Its bespoke analog VU gauge features a precision air core movement, responsive driver circuitry, and a machined aluminum hand. Sapphire glass and a highly polished stainless bezel seamlessly integrate the gauge into the front panel.

Solid aluminum knobs are attached to Swiss-made, precision-stepped rotary switches, providing manual control with an incredibly satisfying feel.

Effortless Power: The Brama Amplifier Stage

What makes Brama’s power amplifier stage unique?
The power amplifier stages in the Brama Integrated Amplifier and Monoblock Power Amplifiers are meticulously engineered two-PCB stacks. The upper PCB carries the fully balanced input and driver stages, while the lower PCB houses the Class AB MOSFET output stage. The output devices themselves are mounted directly to Brama’s solid-body aluminum chassis, transforming the entire structure into an efficient, silent heatsink. This compact, elegant architecture preserves signal purity while ensuring stability and effortless power delivery.

Why use a stacked design?
Because it keeps the signal and power paths exceptionally short. It also isolates the more delicate input and driver stage circuitry from the power output stage. Components are mounted on both sides of each PCB, eliminating the need for long PCB traces and internal cable runs. The result is lower noise, tighter control, and a level of transparency that simply isn’t achievable with more sprawling layouts. In Brama, this remarkable layout approach directly serves the purity of the music.

Why use so few output MOSFETs compared to other amplifiers?
Many amplifiers rely on a large array of inexpensive transistors to achieve high output power. Brama takes a different approach. We use a small number of carefully computer-matched lateral MOSFETs—two per rail in the Integrated, three per rail in the Monoblock. By minimizing the number of output devices, we reduce congestion, preserve microdetail, and maintain a holographic, natural presentation.

How much power does Brama deliver?
The Brama Integrated Amplifier delivers 200W RMS into 8 ohms and 400W RMS into 4 ohms. The Brama Monoblock Power Amplifier takes this further: 300W RMS into 8 ohms, 600W RMS into 4 ohms, and an astonishing 1200W RMS into 2 ohms. With such reserves, Brama drives even the most demanding loudspeakers with absolute authority—yet always with finesse.

How did VinnieRossi® design it for the highest reliability?
Brama continuously monitors its own operating conditions. DC offset is servo-controlled at the input stage to maintain 0V at the speaker outputs. Temperature and output current are monitored in real time, with intelligent protection circuitry ensuring safe shutdown in the unlikely event of a fault.

What does this all mean for the listener?
It means power without harshness, control without constraint, and scale without sacrificing intimacy. Brama’s amplifier stage doesn’t just deliver wattage—it delivers music with flow, texture, and presence. From the softest whisper to the most commanding crescendo, every note emerges with authority, detail, and grace.

Powering your passion.

The Brama Preamplifier boasts a custom switch-mode power supply with linear, Belleson super-regulated outputs, ensuring exceptionally low output noise and impedance across the audio spectrum for pristine performance. Its high-speed operation and low magnetic losses guarantee an ultra-fast transient response, surpassing conventional linear supply designs and delivering superior pace, rhythm, and timing in music reproduction.

The power supply features independent outputs for the positive and negative preamplifier voltage rails, 300B cathode heating, and front panel control circuitry. This design minimizes crosstalk and interference, enhancing overall performance. Regardless of AC mains quality, the power supply maintains superior regulation and stability. Housed in a fully enclosed compartment precision-machined into Brama’s solid aluminum body, it is fully grounded and isolated from the audio circuitry, operating like a highly-responsive, well-tuned engine.

Power Perfected from the Ground Up

Why don’t Brama components use traditional power supplies?
Conventional toroidal transformers, common even in very high-end audio components, have limitations. Under load they introduce noise throughout the audio band and “choke” musical dynamics because of their inductive properties (a consequence of Lenz’s Law). Their output voltage also sags when your AC mains fluctuate or when there are strong demands in the music. In short, they can get in the way of music’s natural flow.

What does Vinnie Rossi® do differently?
Brama’s power supplies are custom-designed from the ground up, exclusively for high-end audio. Every model features a precision-engineered switch-mode power supply (SMPS) with active power factor correction (PFC). By drawing power cleanly from the wall, PFC ensures the supply itself never introduces noise or interferes with other components. The result is rock-solid voltage, ultra-low noise, and lightning-fast response.

How does this benefit music?
Because Brama’s power supplies respond instantly—without the lag or sag of conventional designs—music flows effortlessly, with every subtle nuance intact, regardless of fluctuations in the incoming AC line. The noise floor remains far outside the audio band, so every note emerges from a foundation of pure silence. From the quietest whisper to a thunderous crescendo, dynamics are preserved with ease and authority, even when driving the most demanding loudspeakers. Music isn’t just played—it is experienced in its full emotional and sonic depth.

How is the design executed?
Every Brama power supply is fully enclosed in its own CNC-machined chamber within the solid aluminum chassis, completely isolated from the audio circuitry. Internal wiring is kept to just a few centimeters, minimizing interference. In the linestage sections, patented Belleson linear super-regulators provide an exceptionally low noise floor, while the power amplifiers feature dedicated 2400W peak supplies for effortless headroom and control. The result is a system where every element is meticulously crafted to let the music breathe and flow effortlessly.

Why isn’t this approach to power supply design more widely adopted?
Designing a true audio-grade power supply from the ground up is expensive and time-consuming. Manufacturing at this level is far costlier than producing a conventional supply of comparable output. Coupled with the prevalence of inexpensive switching supplies in consumer electronics, many companies hesitate to take on the challenge of educating audiophiles that not all SMPS are created equal. There’s also the long-standing belief in high-end audio that “bigger and heavier must be better,” favoring bulky traditional transformers. Brama challenges that assumption—just one listening session with your favorite music, and you’ll be convinced.

Simplicity – the ultimate sophistication.

Uncommon even among cost-no-object components, the main body of the Brama Preamplifier is precision-machined from a solid block of aluminum. This construction offers exceptional resonance control, complete shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI), and ensures superior heat dissipation, thereby guaranteeing the long-term reliability of its internal components.

From an industrial design perspective, the seamless construction enhances the preamplifier’s aesthetic appeal for audiophiles who value sophistication and elegance.

Solid, Silent, Seamless: The Brama Chassis

Why does the Brama use a single solid-body chassis instead of traditional multi-piece designs?
Because true luxury lies in refinement, not complication. Traditional multi-piece enclosures rely on hidden skeletons and fasteners, introducing weak points and resonances that compromise sonic purity. Brama’s chassis is precision-machined from a single block of high-grade AL6063 aluminum alloy—a process that is exceptionally demanding but yields a seamless form with superior resonance control, higher thermal conductivity, and exceptional grounding. Like a sculpture revealed from a single stone, or a fine watch case milled from solid metal, this approach conveys not just strength but permanent beauty. The absence of seams isn’t merely aesthetic—it is an expression of silence, solidity, and timeless elegance.

How does this design improve thermal performance?
A solid-body aluminum chassis naturally acts as a more effective heatsink, distributing heat evenly across its entire mass. This allows Brama to remain more compact without running hot, so VinnieRossi® avoids the need to make a larger unit that suffers longer signal and power paths. Everything inside stays cool, stable, and optimized for sound.

What about electromagnetic interference (EMI) in today’s connected world?
In a world increasingly saturated with wireless signals, shielding is no longer optional—it’s essential. Brama’s solid-body chassis completely encloses its power supply and audio circuitry, creating a barrier not just against dust, but against the constant noise of smartphones, Wi-Fi routers, and other smart devices. This ensures that what you hear is not the modern world bleeding through, but true music emerging from a foundation of pure silence.

How is the Brama chassis made?
Each one begins as a solid billet of AL6063 alloy. It is sculpted to precise tolerances on a 5-axis CNC machine, then glass bead–blasted for a fine texture that feels both satin-smooth and substantial to the touch. The surface is anodized for lasting elegance and durability, while the VinnieRossi® logo is laser-engraved on the top, adding a subtle signature of authenticity that will never fade.

Why does VinnieRossi® believe this approach is the pinnacle of high-end audio craftsmanship?
Because nothing is incidental and no shortcuts are taken. Every contour, edge, and surface of Brama’s chassis is shaped with purpose—seamless in form, enduring in function, and crafted to engage the senses. It feels exquisite to the touch, carries a timeless visual presence, and anchors performance at the highest level. More than a housing, the chassis is an integral part of the Brama experience, where design, engineering, and art converge to bring music to life.
