Shunyata Research ‘X’ Ground Cable

Sale price$2,000.00

The Shunyata Research ‘X’ Ground Cable is a reference-grade grounding solution designed to provide the lowest-resistance, lowest-noise connection between audio components and Shunyata grounding hubs such as Altaira-X. Using pure silver conductors, proprietary TAPc™ and CMode™ noise-reduction modules, and KPIP v2™ processing, the ‘X’ Ground Cable effectively evacuates ground-borne electrical noise that degrades clarity, timing, and dynamic resolution. Engineered for high-performance analog and digital audio systems, it delivers a lower noise floor, improved image stability, greater micro-detail, and enhanced system-wide coherence, making it an essential upgrade for reference-level listening environments.

THE "X" GROUND CABLE

PEERLESS PERFORMANCE

‘X’ Ground Cables complete the Altaira-X reference grounding system by providing the lowest-resistance connection possible between components and the hub. They feature pure silver conductors treated with Shunyata Research’s KPIP v2™ process to achieve unmatched conductivity, dynamics, and resolution. Paired with Shunyata’s proprietary platinum-plated STIS v3 interchangeable terminals, as well as integrated TAPc and CMode (Common Mode noise reduction) modules, these cables form the finest ground connection available, perfectly complementing the uncompromising performance of the Altaira-X hub.

GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY

TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic fields surrounding electrical or signal conductors. TAPc behaves like a polarizer, passively reducing electromagnetic distortion that presents as a type of glare on sound or images.

The sonic impact of TAPc is unmistakable. There is a profound drop in perceived noise floor, effortlessly portrayed dynamics and an immediate improvement in the rendering of timing and coherency in sound. These performance elements are unique to TAPc and remain unaddressed by competing technologies of any kind. Even casual listeners can recognize the effect TAPc has upon first listen. Results are consistent across a wide range of components and systems. Essentially, the TAPc modules act as force multipliers, elevating the listening experience to levels many would not have thought possible.

Common-mode noise is different than differential noise and is much more difficult to measure and eliminate. For the purest signal possible, Shunyata Research has developed a CMode filter that effectively reduces common-mode noise without introducing the sonic compression effects associated with conventional filters. It reduces high-frequency noise distortion while delivering an analog ease and palpable background silence that closes the gap between digital and analog systems.
Platinum-plated connectors deliver exceptional fidelity and tonal purity, offering a smooth, natural presentation with enhanced resolution. Fine detail emerges effortlessly, without added edge or glare, while clarity, contrast, and dimensionality are preserved across the full dynamic range of the system.
Shunyata Research’s STIS™ v3 is the most refined interchangeable terminal system available, offering both uncompromising performance and unmatched flexibility. The spade and banana terminals are culled from solid tellurium copper and plated with pure platinum. This combination was chosen not only for long-term durability but for its unmatched signal fidelity and tonal purity. The result is a smooth, natural presentation that perfectly complements the heightened resolution of reference-grade systems like Altaira-X. STIS™ v3 provides the sonic integrity of fixed connectors while allowing users to change terminations as needed. This ensures effortless adaptation to different system configurations without sacrificing performance or reliability.

Fluorocarbon dielectrics are usually only found in wire used in the aerospace industry, satellites and only the most expensive audiophile cabling. It has special electrical characteristics; very low dielectric absorption, high dielectric strength and exceptional heat resistance.  When used in audio and power cables is reduces the perception of dynamic compression and it improves sonic low-level resolution and clarity.

Crystal clear transient detail.

KPIP v2™ Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at the atomic level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
