Shunyata Research Omega-X Phono Cable | Reference Tonearm Interconnect
Shunyata Research Omega-X Phono Cable is the reference phono interconnect in the Omega-X signal-cable family, engineered for the extremely low-level signal between a turntable or tonearm and a phono stage. It combines single-crystal OHNO silver conductors with TAPc technology, ΞTRON, reference termination architecture, and KPIP v2 processing.
Because phono signals require substantial downstream gain, shielding, grounding, dielectric control, and connector quality are especially important in this application.

OMEGA-X PHONO
The Shunyata Research Omega-X Phono cable is the reference tonearm cable in the Omega-X family, for the very low-level signal between your turntable and phono stage. It combines single-crystal OHNO silver conductors with TAPc, ΞTRON, platinum contacts and eight days of KPIP v2 processing, and is paired with the Omega-X CGC phono ground cable.
WHO IS OMEGA-X PHONO FOR?
Omega-X Phono is for reference vinyl systems where the tonearm-to-phono-stage connection deserves the same care as the rest of the Omega-X system.
WHY A DEDICATED PHONO CABLE?
A phono cartridge produces a tiny signal that the phono stage amplifies many times over, so any noise picked up by the cable is amplified too. Shielding, dielectric quality, connector quality and proper grounding matter more here than anywhere else in the system.
TECHNOLOGY
![]() | TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is Shunyata Research's patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic field surrounding a conductor. It works like a polarizer, passively reducing the electromagnetic distortion that is heard as glare and compression. The result is a lower perceived noise floor, easier dynamics, and better timing and coherence. |
![]() | Ohno (single-crystal) conductors are made with a heated-mold casting process that forms wire with one continuous crystalline structure, instead of the many crystal boundaries created by conventional wire drawing. Ohno silver is known for its exceptionally pure, grain-free sound. |
![]() | ΞTRON® is Shunyata Research's patented technology for reducing dielectric absorption and re-radiation in signal cables. A dual-path conductor and electric-field compensation circuit keep the insulation from building up a charge, preserving timing and signal integrity. |
![]() | KPIP v2™ is Shunyata Research's proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process. It conditions the conductor and terminal metals before the cable leaves the factory, which greatly shortens burn-in time and delivers a relaxed, life-like presentation right out of the box. |
![]() | Fluorocarbon dielectrics offer very low dielectric absorption, high dielectric strength and excellent heat resistance. In audio cables this reduces the sense of dynamic compression and improves low-level resolution and clarity. |
![]() | Platinum-plated contacts deliver a smooth, natural presentation with fine detail and tonal purity, without added edge or glare. |
