DELTA-X POWER DISTRIBUTOR

Shunyata Delta-X

The Shunyata Research Delta-X Power Distributor is an eight-outlet high-performance power distributor engineered to reduce multiple forms of high-frequency noise while preserving the instantaneous current delivery demanded by modern audio electronics. Drawing heavily from technologies developed for the award-winning Shunyata Research Everest-X, Delta-X brings advanced power management and exceptional price-to-performance value to high-end audio, professional recording, mastering, and home theater systems.

Rather than relying on conventional power conditioning techniques that can restrict transient current, Delta-X was engineered through scientific measurement and electrical performance analysis to address RFI, EMI, power-line noise, and component-generated noise without compromising dynamic current delivery.

The result is a quieter, cleaner electrical environment that allows amplifiers, DACs, preamplifiers, music servers, source components, and other sensitive electronics to perform at their full potential.

BREAKING NEW GROUND IN POWER DISTRIBUTION

The Delta-X represents a major evolution in high-performance AC power distribution. Its architecture combines Shunyata Research's proprietary technologies with a high-current 8-gauge ArNi® VTX™ buss system and 12-gauge ArNi® VTX™ internal wiring to create an exceptionally low-impedance path between the AC inlet and connected components.

With four isolated zones, Delta-X helps prevent noise generated by one component from contaminating other electronics connected to the same power distributor.

This approach makes Delta-X particularly effective in complex audio systems where multiple digital, analog, amplification, and networking components share the same AC environment.

THE TRUE SOUND OF SILENCE

Power-line noise is not limited to audible hum, buzz, or hiss. High-frequency electrical noise can also obscure low-level detail, compromise timing, and reduce the dimensionality of reproduced music.

The Delta-X addresses these less obvious forms of electrical contamination, creating a quieter operating environment for connected components.

The result can be heard as:

  • Lower perceived background noise

  • Greater micro-detail and resolution

  • Improved timing and transient precision

  • More focused imaging

  • Greater soundstage depth and dimensionality

  • Increased dynamic contrast

  • More impactful bass and transient energy

  • A more natural and immersive presentation

By reducing the electrical noise floor without sacrificing dynamic current delivery, Delta-X allows familiar recordings to reveal previously masked layers of musical and spatial information.

FOUR ZONES OF ELECTRICAL ISOLATION

Delta-X incorporates four isolated zones to help prevent noise from one connected component from spreading through the power distribution system.

This is particularly valuable in sophisticated systems that combine:

  • Power amplifiers

  • Integrated amplifiers

  • Preamplifiers

  • DACs

  • Network streamers

  • Music servers

  • CD transports

  • Phono stages

  • Home theater electronics

By controlling component-generated noise at the power distribution level, Delta-X helps create a cleaner environment for sensitive electronics.

PREMIUM MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION

The Delta-X is housed in a robust all-aluminum chassis with an anodized aluminum faceplate, providing a combination of mechanical stability, durability, and understated premium aesthetics.

Shunyata Research also incorporates vibration-control measures throughout the design, including:

  • Internal vibration-dampening panels

  • AC outlet dampening gaskets on US/AS versions

  • Shunyata Polymer Footers

These mechanical refinements help isolate sensitive components from unwanted vibration while complementing the Delta-X's electrical engineering.

TECHNOLOGY

TAPc
TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic fields surrounding electrical or signal conductors. TAPc behaves like a polarizer, passively reducing electromagnetic distortion that presents as a type of glare or compression on sound or images.
QRBB
QR/BB™ is a patented technology which acts as an instantaneous energy reserve when placed in-line with an AC power supply. It dramatically enhances the perception of dynamic impact, timing and scale in sound when connected to amplifiers or other analog-output electronics.
~ Patent: US 10,031,536 ~
KPIP v2
Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process (KPIP v2™) refines conductor and terminal metals at the atomic level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation.
NIC compound
The NIC™ (Noise Isolation Chamber) is a patented technology that reduces high frequency power line noise. It absorbs high frequency noise without any of the reactive negatives associated with transformers, chokes, coils or large capacitors used in more conventional power conditioners.
~ Patent US 8,658,892 ~
GPNR
GPNR (Ground Plane Noise Reduction) is an advanced ground noise filtering system derived from our Altaira ground hubs. GPNR provides continuous ground-plane noise reduction and dramatically lowers the system’s noise floor, preserving clarity, enhancing timing precision, and revealing subtle musical and spatial detail.
CCI Noise reduction
CCI™ filters have the unique ability to reduce component-generated power line noise without inhibiting DTCD® (Dynamic Transient Current Delivery). This unique micro-filtering approach prevents power line noise from one component from contaminating other electronics in the system.
DTCD® Analysis is a proprietary measurement technique developed to measure instantaneous current flow through very low impedance electrical conductors and contacts. It is used to optimize the design of electrical parts and materials, ensuring optimal instantaneous current delivery.
