The Shunyata Research Alpha-X USB Cable is a high-performance audiophile USB cable engineered to preserve the integrity of digital audio signals in high-end music systems. Combining Shunyata Research's proprietary TAPc, PMZ, and KPIP v2 technologies with a precision four-conductor architecture and dual shielding, Alpha-X USB is designed to minimize cable-induced noise, distortion, and timing errors.

Digital audio systems can be affected by extremely small amounts of noise, electromagnetic interference, and timing-related distortion. The Alpha-X USB is engineered to address these issues at the cable level.


Shunyata Research developed Alpha-X digital cables around technologies intended to reduce cable-induced jitter and electromagnetic distortion. The result is a USB connection designed to maintain signal integrity while allowing the connected digital components to perform at their full potential.

TAPc
 TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic fields surrounding electrical or signal conductors. TAPc behaves like a polarizer, passively reducing electromagnetic distortion that presents as a type of glare or compression on sound or images.
PMZ
 PMZ is an ultra-precise standard of production applied to select coaxial conductors. By running the braiding machines at 1/4 speed, tolerances of the conductor surface, dielectric extrusion and the precision of the braided shield are held to minute variances.
 Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process (KPIP v2™) refines conductor and terminal metals at the atomic level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation.
