ACCUPHASE E-6000
PRECISION INTEGRATED STEREO AMPLIFIER

The Accuphase E-6000 is a high-end integrated stereo amplifier engineered for powerful, precise, and refined music reproduction. As one of the most powerful integrated amplifiers in the Accuphase lineup, it delivers 260 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 350 watts per channel into 4 ohms, providing substantial drive capability for demanding loudspeakers and high-performance audiophile stereo systems.
Combining a fully balanced circuit configuration, Accuphase’s proprietary Balanced AAVA volume control, ANCC noise and distortion cancellation, and a robust high-capacity power supply, the E-6000 brings advanced amplifier engineering and exceptional control together in a single premium component.
HIGH-POWER CLASS AB AMPLIFICATION
At the heart of the Accuphase E-6000 is a six-fold parallel push-pull output stage using power transistors operating in Class AB. This high-current design delivers 260W per channel at 8 ohms and 350W per channel at 4 ohms, giving the amplifier the power reserves required to drive large and demanding loudspeakers.
The power amplifier section uses an instrumentation amplifier architecture to support fully balanced signal transmission. A high damping factor of 1,000 further supports precise loudspeaker control, helping the amplifier maintain consistent performance as speaker impedance varies.
BALANCED AAVA VOLUME CONTROL WITH ANCC
The E-6000 features Accuphase’s Balanced AAVA (Accuphase Analog Vari-gain Amplifier) volume control, an advanced analog volume adjustment system that operates without conventional variable resistors in the audio signal path.
Instead of relying on a traditional potentiometer, AAVA adjusts volume by controlling the combination of signals derived from the input. This approach helps maintain low noise, low distortion, and consistent sound quality across different listening levels.
Accuphase also incorporates its proprietary ANCC (Accuphase Noise and distortion Cancelling Circuit) into the current-to-voltage conversion stage. By using a secondary amplifier to cancel unwanted noise and distortion, ANCC further improves the amplifier’s low-noise performance.
FULLY BALANCED CIRCUIT DESIGN
From the preamplifier input section through the volume control and power amplification stages, the Accuphase E-6000 employs a carefully engineered balanced architecture. Its instrumentation amplifier configuration helps suppress the effects of internal and external noise, supporting clean signal transmission throughout the amplifier.
The design also incorporates balanced remote sensing and a low-impedance output stage to improve damping performance and help maintain accurate control of connected loudspeakers.
HIGH-CAPACITY POWER SUPPLY
To support its high output power, the E-6000 uses a massive, high-efficiency toroidal transformer and two large 47,000 μF / 100 V filtering capacitors. This substantial power supply is designed to provide stable energy reserves for demanding musical passages and dynamic changes.
The left and right power amplifier modules are physically separated, while the transformer and filtering capacitors occupy the central section of the chassis. This carefully arranged internal construction supports the amplifier’s high-power design and helps manage interference between circuit sections.
LOW-IMPEDANCE SPEAKER DRIVE AND PROTECTION
A guaranteed damping factor of 1,000 reflects the E-6000’s emphasis on low output impedance and loudspeaker control. Its six-fold parallel push-pull output stage, balanced remote-sensing technology, and short, low-impedance signal paths contribute to this performance.
Accuphase also uses low-resistance MOS-FET switches in the speaker protection circuit instead of conventional mechanical relay contacts. The protection system is designed to help guard against short-circuit conditions while supporting reliable operation.
Two substantial sets of speaker terminals provide flexible speaker connection and output selection, including simultaneous output where appropriate.
PREMIUM ANALOG CONNECTIVITY
The Accuphase E-6000 offers five line-level inputs and two balanced inputs, providing versatile connectivity for high-end source components such as CD players, DACs, streamers with analog outputs, and preamplifier-level sources.
Its preamplifier section also provides line-level and balanced outputs, while corresponding power amplifier inputs support flexible system configurations. A dedicated headphone amplifier built with discrete circuitry provides a high-quality listening option without requiring a separate headphone amplifier.
EXPANSION SLOTS FOR DIGITAL AND ANALOG SOURCES
Two rear-panel option slots allow the E-6000 to be configured for additional source requirements. Compatible option boards include:
DAC-60: Adds digital audio inputs for compatible digital sources, including USB, coaxial, and optical connections.
AD-60: Adds a phono equalizer for MM and MC cartridges, with selectable MC input impedance and a subsonic filter.
LINE-10: Adds an additional set of unbalanced line-level inputs.
These option boards are sold separately. Compatibility and supported functions depend on the installed board.
PRECISION CONTROLS AND CLASSIC ACCUPHASE DESIGN
The E-6000 combines traditional Accuphase styling with carefully engineered controls and a substantial chassis. Its large analog power meters display output levels, while the central multifunction display shows volume information and, when a compatible DAC option board is installed, digital sampling frequency.
Additional functions include bass and treble tone controls, loudness compensation, a -20 dB attenuator, input phase selection, mono operation, and speaker output selection. A high-rigidity volume sensor mechanism, precision volume knob, and supplied RC-260 remote commander complete the control system.
