What's Special?

Unlike existing levitation designs on the market, the new Levar Resonance magnetic dampers utilize gravitational principles—specifically magnetic attraction—making them incredibly stable and resilient while maintaining a compact size. This robust mechanical construction ensures reliable performance.

These dampers effectively absorb forces in both compression and tension, enhancing the stability of tall loudspeakers and other components by providing damping in both directions.

For best results, place the dampers directly under the device to ensure a level connection. Height adjustments (excluding the LR5-NA) allow for precise alignment. To choose the right dampers, it’s essential to know the exact support weight. Addressing any uneven weight distribution, which is common with loudspeakers or tube amplifiers, is crucial. A mix of dampers with varying strengths can be beneficial for balance.

Additionally, the dampers can be secured to audio components using an M8 thread, but in most cases, simply placing them under the device, thanks to their non-slip foam pads, will suffice

A special feature of this magnetic damper, which is manufactured in Germany, is the complete decoupling of components in connection with the absorption of the finest resonances and vibrations, both from the underground into the device and vice versa. In this way, undesirable microphonic effects are avoided.

The friction effects when guiding the piston are extremely low. This can never be completely avoided with magnetic dampers. Internal resonances in the air gap of the piston (approx. 0.05 mm) are avoided here by applying a highly viscous film of grease.

Components ultimately float on a magnetically generated air gap. There is no "breakaway torque", no rebound and no rocking. The responsiveness is also minimal. The vast majority of decoupling variants fail at this hurdle, with the result that such components are basically too hard and therefore also largely undamped. THE CHALLENGE

Sound waves form the foundation of our acoustic perception. They are created by vibrations that travel through the air, reaching our ears. Typically, we find vibrations from musical instruments or singing voices enjoyable, and experiencing music live offers the most authentic connection. However, attending concerts is not always practical.

Reproducing music at home with a hi-fi system often requires significant technical investment. Given our ears' sensitivity to even the slightest nuances, audiophiles frequently invest heavily in quality equipment.

Yet, this pursuit comes with challenges. The vibrations produced during music playback can lead to disruptive resonances and feedback in the listening environment. As sound radiates from speakers, it causes surrounding elements—like the floor, walls, and furniture—to vibrate, which can negatively impact sound quality. Even heavy materials like granite don’t completely eliminate these issues; they can still resonate.

Turntables are particularly sensitive to such disturbances, but CD players and tube amplifiers are also affected by these vibrations.

To tackle these disruptive resonances, damping elements are essential. Many options exist, but they often create a rigid connection to the floor, which can negate their benefits.
